A Conversation Overheard...
The following conversation between a receptionist and an HR Rep was overheard in a company breakroom:
Receptionist: "Hey, I know you wanted to go shopping. I heard Dillard's is having a sale. They have 30% off stuff already 80% off."
HR Rep: "Oh great! Wait, but doesn't that add up to more than 100%?"
Receptionist: "Yeah, I'm not really sure how that works."

While Driving Home today..
|
|
|
|
... I was stuck behind a smallish, old red car.
And this car had a small, black and white window sticker on it. Me, being curious, had to read what it said. Fortunately (for this anectdote, at least), we soon hit a patch of bumper to bumper traffic, and I was able to read the sticker.
It said, and I'm paraphrasing here: "Some days, I really really hate being me. Then I feel better because I realize I'm not you."
My immediate thought: "Huh. A Sadomasochist. Never met one of those before."

I was just thinking of this the other day while driving.
I've never been one for bumper sticker so, if I were to put one, it would have to be *good*.

My Other Car

Scientists respond to Gore's warnings of climate catastrophe
"The Inconvenient Truth" is indeed inconvenient to alarmists
By Tom Harris
Monday, June 12, 2006
"Scientists have an independent obligation to respect and present the truth as they see it," Al Gore sensibly asserts in his film "An Inconvenient Truth", showing at Cumberland 4 Cinemas in Toronto since Jun 2. With that outlook in mind, what do world climate experts actually think about the science of his movie?

Levi Strauss Confirms RFID Test, Refuses to Disclose Location
April 27, 2006
It may be time to ditch your Dockers and lay off the Levi's, say privacy activists Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre. New information confirms that Levi Strauss & Co. is violating a call for a moratorium on item-level RFID by spychipping its clothing. What's more, the company is refusing to disclose the location of its U.S. test.

About these Idiot Sports Reporters...
by Gambit3
One of my favorite sports sites has always been Sportsline.com, even before it was taken over by CBS to become cbs.sportsline.com. Recently, though, the site seems to have been taken over by lame web idiots whose idea of making a compelling argument is to write that if you don't see things the way they do, it's just because you're a moron. "It's obvious, you see? If you only had a brain."
